it must be the old age
Mar. 28th, 2012 12:46 amwriting less and less on LJ. I dunno, maybe accompanying changes in interests, my LJ started becoming more fandom-centric and less personal?
At the same time, I feel like I'm becoming less and less literate. Sentences are shorter, thoughts are less coherent... maybe it just is the way how short-term fandom (and media) has shifted. Also trying to be less wordy in person. At some point over the last year, I realized that all this discussion for absolute truthness and trying to look beyond superficiality is... well, for me it's just easier not to exercise it so much, otherwise I'd just burn myself out thinking meta-philosophically.
Anyway, fandom-wise:
my three most important members in MM are fast going, going, gone, but I'd lost interest almost a year ago. Say 'Hi' to SKE48's Matsui Jurina, who is one fantastic and over-worked idol and probably wouldn't do anything else even if you asked her. (Or maybe choreography.)
AKB-fandom exploded this past weekend, so I figured I should make a marker for it at least.
Also, schoolwise:
Overworked and stressed, as always. I made it to an interview round with the SFMTA for an internship, and I'm really looking towards working for them when I finally graduate again.
The municipal engineering class has been different. Stayed behind after class to have the prof check my (oft-returned with a huge 'redo') third iteration of a plat, and I realized that all that I'm learning here might never apply to work, especially if I'm planning to return home to work. Because, well, you have to be prohibitively rich to even think about owning a 4000 sq ft house (plus, I am a steadfast New Urbanist.) This globalist is getting overly homesick after being away from home for so long.
Or, it'll be JET again. I promise not to be burned again, even though the chances seem slimmer. The enthusiastic Japanese majors here seemed not to have gotten offers (or even made it to the interview round), and that'd be a bummer.
More to come, maybe.
